PROPOSAL TO PUBLISH A SPECIAL ISSUE

(in the First Quarter of 2014)

BASED ON SELECTED PAPERS

FROM ICFD-11 PROCEEDINGS

CFD LETTERS is an international peer-reviewed journal specialized in Computational Fluid Dynamics. It is the first open-access accelerated journal devoted to the science and engineering of CFD. The journal has been successfully publishing cutting-edge research articles since 2009. The articles published in CFD Letters are indexed in world's best citation databases, such as Scopus® and DOAJ®.

After Scopus® inclusion last year, CFD LETTERS was recently included in the prestigious SCImago® Journal Rank Database (http://www.scimagojr.com/). It is expected at an average value of 0.62, as computed by SCImago®.

VALIDITY PERIOD: This proposal is from the issue date 23/11/2013 until 19/12/2013.

ITEM (1)  The purpose of this proposal is to state the conditions and terms by which CFD Letters (the journal) offers to publish selected papers from the proceedings of the Eleventh International Conference of Fluid Dynamics (http://www.icfd11.org/) in a special issue which is to be published during the first quarter of 2014 (before 31/3/2014).

ITEM (2) The number of selected papers must be at least 5 papers and at maximum 15 papers. The main topic of selected papers must be Computational Fluid Dynamics and/or Numerical Heat Transfer.

ITEM (3) The scientific committee of the conference should be in charge of selecting the papers, which will be subjected to a second round of peer-review by the journal editorial board.

ITEM (4) The conference committee should appoint two to three guest editors for the special issue, and arrange for two editorial articles to be published in the special issue. The guest editors are required to write brief introductory statements (one page) about the conference, and the editorial articles are preferred to be short reviews or critical notes (max four pages each).

ITEM (5) All papers should be submitted to CFD LETTERS via the online manuscript system, and the adherence with the journal style and template is the responsibility of the authors.

ITEM (6) The journal will provide the authors with printed copies of the special issue, as well as two printed copies for the guest editors. Any additional printed copy of this special issue will be processed via the journal's POD publication model at a flat rate of USD 30$ per copy.

ITEM (7) The processing and publishing fees for the special issue should be covered by the authors of selected papers. The value of such fees is USD 70$, to be paid in full after the final acceptance of the paper and before the publication.

ITEM (8) The dateline for manuscript submission for this special issue is 10/2/2014.
